Qi Gong (1912–2005), courtesy name Yuanbai, was a Manchu scholar and artist, a descendant of the Qing imperial family . A lifelong educator, he taught at Fu Jen Catholic University and later Beijing Normal University for decades. He was a master of poetry, calligraphy, and painting, famous for his distinctive, elegant "Qi Style" calligraphy. A leading cultural relics appraiser, he served as Director of the State Cultural Relics Appraisal Committee and Curator of the Central Research Institute of Chinese History . He authored numerous works on classical literature, calligraphy theory, and philology . Combining profound scholarship with refined artistic skill, he was revered as a national cultural treasure and a paragon of traditional Chinese culture .
