The Story

Created in the early 1950s after Lin Fengmian settled in Shanghai, this work emerged during his intensive focus on Peking Opera themes.Inspired by frequent opera visits and influenced by artist Guan Liang, it reinterprets traditional Chinese drama through a modern, Western-infused visual language.
